Shopping: Shops generally open 09:00-18:00 on weekdays and until 14:00 Saturdays (some department stores open until 20:00 or 21:00 weekdays) and even on Sundays in the big cities.

Sofia Airport: 15 km from downtown. The transfer from the airport to the central railway station ( Tsentralna Gara ) – is by bus no 84, changing for bus no. 213, 214, 313 or 305 at Pliska Stop. Price of a single ticket is 0,50 leva ( 0,25 Euro ). Extra ticket is needed for big suitcase at the same price.

Taxis in Sofia: Taxis wait at taxi ranks in front of hotels and can be hailed on the street. Some of the companies are OK Supertrans, Ricars, Yes and Yellow, Taxi for 1 euro, etc. On the street, tourists should stick to the yellow taxis that indicate the journey’s cost on their meters. There is no additional charge for luggage in yellow taxis. A supplement is charged at night. It is customary to round up the amount owed as the tip.
